Coverage Area Chart

Below is a quick reference which shows the approximate square footage coverage for standard 50 lb. bag and 2,000 super sack packaging, at various common thicknesses. PermaLife Mulch™ recommended application thickness is 2-inch minimum, for the best performance. PermaLife SoftStuff™/Pour&Play™ recommended application thickness is 4-inch minimum for residential and other private playgrounds with lower fall heights and/or adult supervision, and must be applied to 6-inch thickness to maintain safety and ADA compliance for public playgrounds, providing 17-feet of the best proven fall height protection in the world!

Product Availability & Pricing

EcoGreen typically stocks in its warehouse, located off Beach Blvd. in Westminster, CA, the 50 lb. bags of PermaLife Mulch™ and PermaLife SoftStuff™/Pour&Play™ in pallets of 40 bags (2,000 lbs). The 2,000 lb. super sacks and other PermaLife products are available as special orders items only, with an 11 qty. min. on special orders of super sacks. The normal lead time for special orders is approx. 3 weeks from order acceptance to ship date, and vary depending on product. This may vary based upon seasonal production demands at PermaLife's manufacturing facilities.

The dimensions of the 2,000 super sacks are 48"x 40" at the base, and over 72" (6') tall. A normal pick-up truck or trailer may not work well for super sacks, unless they are made to hold and secure these tall, top-heavy super sacks. These typically need to be loaded on and offloaded from the truck with a forklift at each end, and roughly 300% - 500% more labor than the 50 lb. bags to install and distribute evenly with a rake. Otherwise, the pallets of 50 lb. bags are a much better choice.

The pallets of 50 lb. bags are typically easier to move around, not only for delivery, but for installation as well. Each pallet is the same weight as the super sack, at 2,000 lbs. of product, in the form of 40 qty. of the bags per pallet. The dimensions are approximately 54"x 54" (with the bulging bags), and about 60" tall (pretty much a 54" cube on top of the pallet). Please note that using 50 lb. bags is a much easier way to control accurate placement and application thickness.

Suggested retail pricing for the PermaLife Mulch™ is $27.99/bag and our price is reduced to $21.55/bag; and the suggested retail for our SoftStuff™ (which is really the safer PermaLife Pour&Play™) is over $31.99/bag, and our price is only $24.12/bag (or less, plus tax).
